"I Finally Turned the Age I've Been Waiting for."

Dear Diary,

I've been waiting to turn 16 my whole life. Being able to drive, get a job, hang out with friends and just be independent for once, but now that I've turned 16, I still feel like I'm still 10. I barely have time to hang out with friends because of school, I cannot get a job for the life of me, and I'm a bit too scared to drive alone. It's kind of bittersweet, turning 16 in junior year of high school. Junior year is supposed to be the most important year but, being 16 is what all the 2000's movies are about. It's like I'm too busy to be 16. I mean, come on, how the heck did Debby Ryan have time for all that drama in junior year in the movie 16 Wishes. But growing up, I wanted to have the red car, not have a curfew, be a good dancer, and ESPECIALLY my own bathroom of course just like Abby in 16 Wishes ♥︎ And while I LOVE being 16 and romanticizing my life as a teenage girl, it's definitely not exactly what I expected and that might be better honestly. I may not be super popular, but I have awesome friends that I care about. And while I may not be dating my celebrity crush, I have an amazing boyfriend. I may not be the prima ballerina I thought I was gonna be growing up, I found a new passion in cheerleading and stunting. All of this is 100% not what I was expecting growing up, but even better. There has been so many plot twists throughout my life and I'm so excited what's up next.

Love,

          Alondra
