Saying No Unpologetically
Dear Diary,
recently, I’ve discovered to art in saying no unapologetically. Meaning, saying no and not feeling bad, feeling scared, feeling whatever you may be feeling when you say no. Saying no because you want to, because you need to, because it’s the right thing to do. Not saying yes to protect the feelings of another person or because your’e scared of what they might say. The amount of times I’ve been saying no recently is honestly so… refreshing? liberating? Idk, but it feels really good saying no when I want to tbh. Throughout time, the word ‘no’ has always had some type of negative connotation since it’s used as a way deny another person. ANOTHER PERSON. If anything, no only has a negative connotation to the other person, you yourself should not be negatively affected by just saying it. A recent experience in which I said no was when some kid kept saying I AM going to prom with him and that he’s gonna make me feel better about going alone… the alone part is a blog for next week… but bro, OF COURSE I’M GONNA SAY NO, and I’m gonna do it unapologetically too because who are you to be saying that to me? BUTBUTBUT, does that mean I'm gonna be rude and hold a grudge against him now? Of course not, saying no isn't just an action, but it's also just a word, it shouldn't affect your relationship with another person (well it depends how you use it ofc). And you might be wondering, how about the person on the other end of that ‘no’, because I can promise that all of us has been at the other end receiving that no. And of course, it doesn’t always feel great. Getting rejected, finding out you didn’t get the job, someone saying they don’t like the same music as you (ik, heartbreaking). Which brings me to my next point 🤓☝️, learn to accept people saying no. Because reality check, not everything is gonna be perfect and go your way, that’s just how the world works. Yea, of course, it’s gonna hurt at first but just learn to suck it up and move on. We’re all bound to have someone say no to us whether we like it or not. Anyways, I think that wraps up this blog. As always, thank you so much for reading and supporting Dear Diary! Love you all ♡♥︎
Love,
