Finding the Joy in Being Single

Dear Diary,

ever since the whole breakup fiasco, I found the joy in being able to be single. And no, I don’t mean being able to call other guys cute and stuff. I mean, being able to do stuff alone. I honestly just love being independent now and having it be okay when I'm having a bad day want to isolate from everything and everyone. Buying flowers for yourself, going to party’s alone, having solo meals. Yea, now that I’m listing them out, they kinda sound like a depressing. BUT, trust me, I’ve honestly really enjoyed doing stuff by myself and focusing on me. I feel like young adults today feel the need to have a significant other that they forget that you can also be happy without dating. Oh, before I go on, I feel like it goes without saying, but by no means am I trying to bash people who are dating 😭. I just see some relationships in which the couple doesn’t even know each other. Sure, they may know the other person’s favorite color or what they wanna do when they get older, but they don’t really know them. They just date because they enjoy the idea of having someone by their side rather than actually loving them. They just can’t stand the fact of being single, but I’m here to tell you that there is joy in being single. And, I think most people think of being single as being alone…. Just because you’re single absolutely does not mean that you are alone. You still have your family and your friends. And in the rare case you don’t have that support system, you still have platforms online where people can relate (like Dear Diary ☻) As always, thank you for reading this week's blog and supporting Dear Diary! Love you guys ♡♥︎

Love,
